Final touches and your results

Size tables, your products and your analytics

With search and recommendations running, three tools help you finish the job: size tables that answer "which size fits?" on the product page, a products page that shows exactly what search knows about each item, and analytics that show what shoppers search for and the sales AlFinder brings in.

Why these three matter

Each one removes a reason to lose a sale or a reason to doubt your setup. A size table helps a shopper who is ready to buy clothes or shoes but unsure of the fit. The products page lets you confirm that search shows the right price and details. Analytics tell you whether all of this is paying off, and where to look next.

How they work together

Analytics are where most improvements start. Negative searches show what shoppers looked for and didn't click, which often points to a missing synonym or product. Revenue by feature shows what is working. When something in search looks wrong, such as an old price, the products page is where you check that product and refresh it.

The fixes feed each other. Once a negative search gets a synonym or the right product, shoppers start clicking its results, and from then on search can learn from those clicks like any other search. Checking the same numbers a few weeks later shows you whether the change worked.

A sensible order

  • If you sell clothes, shoes or anything sized, create one size table per type of fit and assign it to its products.
  • Open the products page once to confirm the total matches your store, and come back whenever a product looks out of date in search.
  • Make analytics a weekly habit: check revenue, then work through your negative searches.
