How to customize product cards in your store's search results

Open Customize product card from the side menu. Choose Match my store to reuse your theme's own card on Salla and Shopify, or Custom design to set the colours, icons, button and content yourself while a live preview shows the result. Save, and every product in your search results takes the new look.

Why the product card matters

Every search result is a product card, and it is where the shopper decides whether to click or add to cart. If the cards look different from the ones on your category pages, with other colours, buttons or fonts, the results feel like they came from somewhere else.

A card that matches your store keeps the experience consistent from the search bar to the checkout. The same card is also used in your recommendation sections.

Match my store or Custom design

Under Product Card Design you choose between two modes. Match my store uses your theme's own product card, so results look exactly like the rest of your store. It is available for Salla and Shopify stores.

On Shopify, Match my store needs a one-time step: adding a small section file to your theme. Click Show setup instructions and follow the steps. A theme update or a switch to another theme removes that file, so repeat the steps after either.

Custom design lets you style the card yourself, on any platform. The fields are grouped into five tabs, and the Product Card Preview beside them updates as you change each one.

What you can change in Custom design

Each tab covers one part of the card:

  • Wishlist: show or hide the wishlist icon, and set its icon, colour, size and position.
  • Add to Cart Icon: show or hide it, and set its icon, colour, hover colour and size.
  • Button: the add to cart button's type, colours, hover colours, size and corner roundness, its text in Arabic and English, and the out of stock text.
  • Card: corner roundness, card width, image height, and whether prices show in English numerals.
  • Content: padding, height, background and border, the price colour and the colour of the price before discount.

Tips for a card that sells

Give the add to cart button your store's main brand colour, with text that stands out clearly against it, such as white on dark blue. Keep the button text short: "Add to cart" or "أضف للسلة" reads better on a small screen than a full sentence.

Make the price before discount a softer colour than the current price, so offers are easy to spot during sales seasons. And if your store is in Arabic but you prefer prices like 250 instead of ٢٥٠, turn on English prices in the Card tab.

How to set it up

  1. 1In the dashboard side menu, open Customize product card.
  2. 2Under Product Card Design, choose Match my store (Salla and Shopify) or Custom design.

  4. 4With Custom design, go through the Wishlist, Add to Cart Icon, Button, Card and Content tabs, watching the Product Card Preview.

Common questions

Can I use Match my store on Zid or Shopware?

Match my store is available for Salla and Shopify stores. On other platforms, use Custom design and set the colours and button to match your theme.

I chose Match my store on Shopify, but the cards did not change. Why?

The theme section is probably not installed, or a theme update removed it. Until the file is in your theme, search keeps its own card design. Open Show setup instructions, follow the steps, and save again with Match my store selected.

Can I change the add to cart button text?

Yes. In Custom design, open the Button tab and edit the add to cart button text in Arabic and in English. The same tab holds the text shown on out-of-stock products.

Does the card also change in the search dropdown?

Yes, when the Search bar design under Search › Customize search content is set to Product card. The dropdown then uses the same card you design here.
